As one of the first high-level universities in China to carry out co-operation with Hong Kong, Nanjing University (NJU) has insisted on playing a leading role of a top-tier university. It has actively maintained close ties and multi-facet cooperation with all sectors of Hong Kong society for a long time, focusing on talents cultivation, scientific research and innovation, exchanges of teachers and students, and cultural inheritance. The School of Sustainable Energy and Resources (SSER) is a new-type of key schools founded on the Suzhou campus of NJU. With a global vision, the school has bravely undertaken the mission of the times and actively explored a future-oriented education model. At present, it has strengthened cooperation with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, laying a solid foundation for better serving the development of the country and the society.

From 23rd to 26th October, in order to accelerate the implementation of the “Endeavor Action”, carry out in-depth cooperation with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University(PolyU), and promote high-quality talent cultivation, SSER joined the Nanjing University delegation led by Wang Zhenlin, Vice President of NJU, to visit Honghong.

On the afternoon of the 24th, the delegation visited the PolyU, during which, they held discussions with Dean Li Xiangdong and teacher representatives, and listened to the future cooperation plans for student exchange and faculty exchange in the fields of carbon neutrality between the School of Architecture and Environment(SAE) of PolyU and SSER of NJU. Subsequently, the two schools signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

The signing of this memorandum will help both parties combine their advantageous areas, integrate high-quality resources, and actively explore and perfect cooperation model. In the future, the two parties will strengthen in-depth cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research and innovation, exchanges of faculty and students, and culture inheritance, giving full play to the advantages in basic research, and striving to improve the ability to tackle core technologies and inject momentum to industrial innovation and development at the local level. With mutual efforts, the two parties endeavour to support and serve Chinese modernization, contribute to the stability and long-term development of "one country, two systems", jointly foster the feelings of home and country among teachers and students in Hong Kong, and to cultivate talents who love both Hong Kong and China.
